Refreshing Prayer
Instructor: Eddie Feld
Do not make your prayer a fixed thing – Mishnah Berachot 4:4
Is each prayer experience original for us? Need it be? Are the words of the liturgy sufficient or do we need something more to make prayer real? In a close textual reading, we will examine the rabbinic teaching in the Mishnah which ordains the prayer experience and the differing opinions regarding these questions in the Jerusalem and Babylonian Talmudic texts. (Both Hebrew and English texts will be made available.)
This Zoom class, welcome to all, will take place on Rosh Hodesh Elul, Thursday August 20 at 11am ET. To register, click here.
